Anglican Tradition

All Saints is a Christian church that worships in the Anglican tradition.  Formed in England during the Reformation of the 16th century, the Anglican Church is Protestant.  However, it sought to retain what was best from the first 4 centuries of the Church.  This resulted in Anglicanism being a middle way between other Protestant churches and the Catholic Church.  At its best Anglican worship seeks to embody the three strands of Word, Sacrament, and Spirit.

Liturgical Expression

Our worship style is liturgical, which means we follow a set form and pattern in our service.  Weekly we sing songs, hear God's Word read and preached, we profess, pray, and confess together, and we celebrate Communion.  Liturgy means the work of the people, and thus the service is meant to be interactive as we engage our hearts, minds, and bodies in worship.

Gospel Focus

Our worship is rooted in retelling and appropriating the good news of God's redeeming love in Jesus for sinners.  In our worship service the gospel is presented four times.  In the sermon we hear it proclaimed and applied to our lives; we profess our faith in it through the Nicene Creed; we confess our sins and receive absolution through it; and we celebrate its fruit in Communion.  We also set our calendar around the gospel, traveling through the life of Jesus during the seasons of the Church year.
