Prayers for the Giles' newborn babyPRAYERS FOR THE GILES’ NEW-BORN CHILD: Dcn. Erin Giles writes: “We would like to ask the family campers to pray for baby Harry, born January 10th. He has been diagnosed with borderline congenital glaucoma. His intra-ocular pressure in both eyes is slightly elevated, his right eye is slightly cloudy and his right optic nerve is slightly enlarged. Our current medical treatment is to check his eyes every two weeks for six weeks and then to re-evaluate. Howard and I view this waiting time as an opportunity for us to pray for the Lord to heal Harry, just as He healed the man who was blind from birth that this illness may be to the glory of God.  We thank those of you who are able to join us in placing Harry before the Lord and seeking His perfect will for our son that he may receive all those good things that the Lord prepared for him from before his birth.”  Please join with us in interceding for complete healing and restoration.

Insurance PresentationINSURANCE PRESENTATION FEBRUARY 9TH:  The Bishop is pleased to present to the clergy of the diocese a presentation of health insurance options that we hope to make available by March of this is year.  Tuesday, February 9th, 10:AM, at St. James Cathedral. Our Insurance Representative, Mr. Robert Bradford, will offer an explanation of health/ dental/ life/ disability plans we are considering.  He will be accompanied by Wendy Ashford, First Horizons, who will explain the set up of Health Savings Accounts (aka, HSA’s).  We hope to provide ways to limit the expense of premiums to the local Church while maintaining, or improving, the health coverage options for our Clergy.  He will also be discussing how some of our more mature clergy may be able to utilize Medicare within their health insurance options, if available.  After the presentation and general questions and answers, Mr. Bradford will be available to meet individually with anyone who would like to discuss more individualized options, whether they are still on our plan or have made other arrangements.  He may be able to suggest ways to optimize your plan even if you are not a participant in our Diocesan one.  Uncertain of how long this event may last, we suggest that participants plan to have lunch on their own.  We strongly believe that all Clergy ought to consider being present and placing this on their calendars.
